7 Things To Look Forward To In Vegas in 2022!

Things are heating up in Vegas, and we don’t just mean the weather. With spring and summer right around the corner, Sin City is getting ready to shake off its winter coat and start preparing for a truly incredible year. With 2020 and 2021 behind us, it is time to celebrate the new normal, and there are plenty of big things coming to Vegas to help boost those post-covid mindsets. So get ready, because it’s about to get crazy good in the city that never sleeps.

1) Show Up & Show Out

Vegas is known for its array of top-tier shows and performers, and this year there is no shortage of acts to choose from. While Adele is currently on hold, other mainstream singers like John Legend are gearing up for epic residencies you won’t want to miss. Catch the legend (no pun intended- or is it?) Himself at Zappos Theater beginning in April, as well as Michael Bublé, who is putting on a 6-night show over April and May. If you love a throwback, don’t miss the new Kiss Museum opening up in March, which will feature over 50 years of rockin’ memorabilia. You’ve also got a plethora of musical icons to choose from that are sticking around for more, including Jules Santana, Lionel Richie, Bruno Mars, Shania Twain, Cher, Gaga, and Sting.

2) Dine Like A Celebrity- Or At Least At A Celebrity’s Restaurant.

Unlike the TP shortage over the first part of Covid, there are no concerns over a restaurant shortage in Las Vegas this year. A multitude of celebrity dining options will be available for visitors, including Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart’s new restaurant (honestly, is there anything she can’t do?), and Lisa Vanderpump’s new Paris-style spot that is sure to be bigger and better than any of the lip injections on her show.

3) Get As High As The Stratosphere At A Cannabis Lounge.

If you like to get a little high while exploring Las Vegas, you’re not alone. However, instead of slyly smoking on the Strip or munching down edibles in public, you can enjoy premium cannabis at tasting rooms that allow you to indulge with other like-minded connoisseurs. NUWU is one such spot, the only one currently open though others are sure to follow, and allows visitors to rip a bong, puff a joint, or dab away in a safe, controlled environment.

4) We Love Sports.

Calling all sports fans: now you can get your fix while partying it up in Sin City because Las Vegas is the place to be for all things, well… sports. Check out the upcoming NFL draft which will take over the city April 28-30, or swing in for an NHL tournament and Fan Fair this February. Don’t worry baseball fans, we’ve got something for you, too. Right now it’s just juicy gossip, but word on the street is Vegas will be getting a brand-spanking-new ballpark where the Tropicana currently resides. While nothing is confirmed, we feel like this city loves to keep it fresh, and there’s nothing like a new stadium to draw in even more crowds.

5) Did You Think We Forgot About The Clubs And Pools?

Ok, so you’re probably already booking flights as we speak, but some of you may be wondering about the lifeblood of Vegas: the Pools and Nightclubs; The famous rooftop bar Apex is getting another name change, which for those of you who were around during the era of Ghost Bar, get ready for the ultimate throwback because it’s coming back along with the famous GBDC parties! Light at Mandalay Bay will also be reopening after a long hiatus, and we expect it to be better than ever with new residencies and a famous Vegas face lift! Tao Beach is making a big reappearance on the scene too, with a Balinese-inspired backdrop sure to transport you to a tropical paradise without the need for a passport or covid-test. Can you say yes, please? Look out for new residencies like Alesso at Tao and Marquee, Black Coffee at the Hakkasan properties, and Fisher at Marquee to name a few. Aswell as the classic Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Chainsmokers and Marshmello all back to get your moving and grooving, it’s going to be a crazy summer!

6) Festival Life

If clubs and pools aren’t enough, get ready to get your festival fix this year in the city of neon dreams. Lovers & Friends is happening in May and might be one of the most anticipated shows to hit Vegas in years. It will feature the musical stylings of artists like Lil Jon, Usher, TLC, Ludacris, Nelly, and will be headlined by Ms. Lauryn Hill. Pick your jaw up off the floor, because there’s more. For all you Emo-lovers out there, dust off those black hoodies and get out the black hair dye, because When We Were Young hits the city in October and is chalked full of the greatest bands of all time allowing you to relive your angsty glory days. Then of course there is EDC, which needs no introduction but probably should be mentioned because, well… EDC.

7) Hard Rock Who?

While many of you might be missing the infamous Hard Rock and its coveted shows, the Mirage is undergoing a transformation to fill the slot. Prepare to be awed by the new Giant Guitar that is being built where the existing Mirage hotel stands, in a true nod to all things Hard Rock. That, along with the MSG Sphere which is due to open in 2023 and will knock your socks off with its totally futurized version of a concert venue, are both reasons to plan in advance.

So pack those bags, ladies and gentlemen, because sh*ts about to get real. Welcome back, Vegas, we’ve missed you.
